Tools, Tutorials, And Resources For Authors And Writers

Here are my recommended tools for writing and editing, publishing, and book marketing.

For writing and editing

1. Scrivener

Scrivener is 1 tool for writers, and as well as using it to organize articles, research, and podcast episodes. It’s amazing writing software with brilliant drag and drop functionality, so you can write out of order and just switch things around later. It is also available as an app for iPhone and iPad.

Before you send your manuscript to an editor, it’s a good idea to make it the best it can be by running it through editing software. There are a few options for software, each with its pros and cons.
2. Prowritingaid
It has integrations with all the writing software and specifically allows you to work within Scrivener, saving a lot of time in copying and pasting. It has lots of useful tools and reports, including a grammar checker, and helps you learn how to improve your writing. You can check it out for free.
Remember: As much as software can help, it will never replace a professional editor in terms of helping you make your book the best it can be.

Book cover design

If you want your book to stand out, I recommend professional book cover design. You can find a list at. Your book cover is one of the most important aspects of marketing your book. If the cover isn’t enticing or doesn’t resonate with your genre, no amount of marketing will help sell your book.
I highly recommend using a professional for your cover design in order to make it the most effective for your book. As an author, you don’t have all the skills needed to create a great book, and this is one area worth spending on.
1. Reedsy
Reedsy has a marketplace of vetted professional book cover designers with experience in every genre. They also have editors and marketing professionals.
